It's not uncommon for a lot of users to use weak passwords simply because they are much easier to remember or to use scripts, templates and plug-ins that aren't updated for a long time. It limits the access that a script has only to its own folder, so if one of your Internet sites is compromised, the attacker will see its content, but won't be able to access any other content in your account, thus the damage will be minimal. Of course, using JailHost doesn't substitute the safety measures you need to take by keeping your scripts up-to-date and using long and complex passwords, but it will help you to restrict any damage to one site only.
JailHost in Shared Hosting
We have included JailHost for all shared hosting packages, so you can protect each of your sites with just a few clicks within the Hepsia Control Panel. The feature isn't active by default to avoid disturbing any Internet sites where you may want visitors or admins to be able to access content from other folders inside your account, but activating it for all other Internet sites is really simple. Unlike various other Control Panels where many domains have their files in the exact same main folder, all domains and subdomains in Hepsia have separate folders, making the control and the protection of multiple websites easier. In the unfortunate scenario of a site getting hacked, your other websites will be safe and we'll have several daily backups for the infected one, which means that we can bring it back to its initial state in a matter of minutes.
JailHost in Semi-dedicated Servers
JailHost comes with all our semi-dedicated server solutions and you could activate it with a few clicks. It is not activated by default because we don't want to prevent some scripts which need to gain access to multiple folders in your account from working properly. You could activate JailHost for all other Internet sites that you have from the Hepsia Control Panel and this can be done easily even if you don't have any previous experience. What enables us to offer JailHost is the way in which Hepsia takes care of multiple domains - they all have individual folders which can be "locked". In contrast, other popular Control Panels have add-on domains and the content of the latter is kept in the main domain folder, so in case a single Internet site is hacked, the entire account is hacked, that isn't the case with Hepsia. In case a site gets damaged regardless of your efforts, we shall be able to recover it the way it was almost immediately as we will store a few daily backups of your account.
